If you caught Hereford Musical Theatre Company's production of Louise Roche's hilarious Girls Night two years ago, you'll want to know what happened next to Kate, Liza, Carol, Anita and their friend Sharon, who died in a moped accident, leaving behind a daughter, Candy.
So head to the Tomkins Theatre for an update as HMTC present Girls Night Too..., which this time finds the quartet, and Sharon not so much in the wings as waiting to replace her learner wings, at Candy's wedding to Boris.
Cue more revelations, more drunken declarations of friendship, more laughs at each others' expense (and their partners') and a soundtrack carefully selected to counterpoint the quintet's joys and sadnesses. Each of the five talented HMTC actors gets their moment in the limelight - a moving rendition of Dance with My Father from Sarah Rowberry's Liza, a soulful Be My Baby from Clare Martin, Sarah Phillips delivering an emotionally charged Will You Still Love me Tomorrow and Sharon (Maddy Robinson) getting the party started with Walking on Sunshine and Don't Stop Me Now.
There are surprises in store for all five women - about each other and about themselves - with plenty of humour counterpointing the poignancy of disappointments, sadnesses and betrayal. And no one is more surprised in the end than Sharon - who's been hanging around waiting to win the wings that will free her from a semi-earthbound existence for a long time now - who learns one of the biggest lessons of all.
With the wedding over, the bouquet caught and a surprise ending, audiences will find themselves leaving with the irrepressible memory of an energetically performed Dancing Queen.
Girls Night Too runs at The Tomkins Theatre until Saturday at 7.30pm. To book, visit hmtc.org.uk
