London Mozart Players will perform with soloist Timothy Ridout at The Courtyard this April.

LMP will present a sparkling concert of core repertoire and more recent works including Haydn’s ‘Trauer’ symphony and Arnold’s Sinfonietta No.1, which completes the programme. LMP’s leader Ruth Rogers will also perform as a soloist alongside Timothy Ridout who will play the viola part in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for solo violin and viola. Dobrinka Tabakova’s melodic, exuberant and surprising ‘Suite in Old Style’ will also feature in the programme.

Founded in 1949 by Harry Blech, the London Mozart Players is the UK’s longest established chamber orchestra. From Baroque through to genre-crossing contemporary music, the London Mozart Players are constantly exploring new venues and audiences through collaborations with artists and personalities from all over the creative scene. The ensemble has enjoyed a long history of association with many of the world’s finest musical personalities including Igor Stravinsky, Sir James Galway, Dame Felicity Lott, Jane Glover, Julian Lloyd Webber, Stephen Hough, Nicola Benedetti, John Suchet and Simon Callow.

Soloist Timothy Ridout studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Martin Outram, graduating with the Queen’s Award for Excellence. In 2016 Timothy became the first British winner of the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and was selected for representation by Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT).

London Mozart Players will be at The Courtyard on Friday, April 13 at 7.30pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
