International celebrity organist Richard Hills will be giving a free organ recital at Hereford Cathedral on Bank Holiday Monday at 11.30am.Richard is widely acknowledged as one of the very few musicians to have bridged and mastered the divide between the classical and theatre organ worlds. He has held a number of high profile organ scholarships, including Westminster Abbey and has an equally prestigious career in the theatre organ world. He has appeared many times as a soloist on national and international TV and Radio programmes as diverse as Radio 3’s ‘Choral Evensong’ and Radio 2’s ‘Friday Night is Music Night’ and in 2015 performed a solo recital programme during the Royal Albert Hall Proms Concert season. His Hereford programme reflects his wide range of music with selections of Gilbert and Sullivan and Edward German alongside Bach and Vierne.

This concert is promoted by the Herefordshire Organists’ Society as this year’s Annual Recital. Admission is free but there will a retiring collection in aid of the Society and Hereford Cathedral.
