CHILDREN at Leintwardine Primary School cooked healthy pizzas and rhubarb muffins with the Easy Peasy Cooking Bus, thanks to funding secured by Mortimer Country Food Fair's Loving Local Food project from the Big Lottery Fund.

Headteacher Anne Brandrick said, "I am delighted that our children had this opportunity to learn about cooking in such a hands-on way. They had a super day and really enjoyed themselves."

The project aims to promote local fresh produce and to encourage children and young people to cook using locally-produced ingredients.

Easy Peasy mobile cookery school is a CIC based in Ludlow and run by Tish Dockerty with a focus on healthy eating and cooking seasonal local vegetables within a budget. http://www.easypeasycookery.co.uk/

Easy Peasy will be at this year's seventh annual Mortimer Country Food Fair on July 12, a family event held at Aardvark Books in Brampton Bryan, which will be opened by author and comedian Jo Brand, and also welcomes TV chef James Strawbridge on a sustainable theme.
