THE third Abergavenny Christmas Food and Drink Fair this weekend showcases fabulous exhibitors from Wales, the Marches and further afield.

The festival has festive feasting all wrapped up, with fresh and cured meats, poultry, game, cheeses, chocolates, cakes, desserts, wines, liquers, ales and cider. The focus is on producers who are mostly small in scale but big on taste, with lots of bright ideas to share. And to help you up your game in the kitchen and host the best Christmas ever, there are bite-sized chef demonstrations throughout the day.

Seasonal tutored tastings will be offered by top food experts who’ll be creating fabulous treats for you to sample in a relaxed and intimate environment. Get hot tips for seasonal fun and feasting to try for yourself at home as Tom Harrow and Eric Charriaux pair cheese with white wine, Lindy Wildsmith gets smart with party food and Eddie Ludlow puts Whisky Lounge’s single-cask specials in the spotlight.

Master chocolatier Barry Colenso will be revealing the art and science of the dark stuff; and Paul Grimwood of Ultracomida will join wine expert José Velo- Rego of C&D Wines to savour the fortified wines of Spain.

A Christmas Fair stroller ticket is just £3.50, under-16s free, and includes the programme of free seasonal chef demos in the Market Hall.
