ROSSITER Books in Rosson- Wye and Monmouth present a series of events next week to celebrate Independent Booksellers Week.

On Monday the Ross shop hosts a special event to mark the publication of a local book by photographer Alan Stringer, Portraits from a Small Market Town.

On Tuesday, in Monmouth, Samantha Wynne-Rhydderch will read from and discuss her latest book of poetry, Banjo.

Antony Woodward is in Monmouth on Wednesday to inspire his audience with the tale of his determined efforts to create a garden (on the hillside above Abergavenny) fit for the prestigious ‘Yellow Book’, a process recorded in Garden in the Clouds, which won the National Trust Outdoors Book of the Year award in 2011.

Next Thursday, July 5, sees Emylia Hall in Ross-on- Wye to talk about her first novel The Book of Summers, a coming of age story, and the week ends with a visit to Ross from J W Ironmonger, also a first time novelist, who will talk about his book The Notable Brain of Maximilian Ponder, a story of friendship and of lifelong obsession.

All events start at 7pm.
