Ledbury Poetry Festival has launched its annual Poetry Competition.

The winner receives a first prize of £,1000 and a week of creative writing at Ty Newydd, the National Writers’ Centre for Wales, a 16th century house with views over Cardigan Bay.

Entrants have until July 3 to enter, and the competition is open to both adults and children.

This year’s judge is last year’s poet-in-residence, Ian Duhig, who has been shortlisted for the TS Eliot award three times, won the Forward Best Prize and the National Poetry Prize twice and whose most recent collection Pandorama, won rave reviews.
