ACCLAIMED historian Juliet Barker will be appearing at Rossiter Books in Ross-on-Wye tonight to talk about her fascinating new book, England, Arise.
The book tells the story of the Peasants Revolt of 1381 and provides an important reassessment of the revolt itself and is also an illuminating and original study of English medieval life at the time.
Juliet says: ‘The perfect excuse for me to revisit beautiful Herefordshire – what’s not to love about glorious scenery, a lovely historic market town which is still thriving and a skilled and enthusiastic bookshop team? I fell in love with this area when researching my biography of Wordsworth and can’t wait to come back."
