HEREFORDSHIRE Libraries will be celebrating National Libraries Day with an exciting author event on Saturday, February 9.

Jasper Fforde will be talking about his latest books and his love of libraries at Hereford Library’s Woolhope Room.

Jasper is a well-known comedy/fantasy writer whose hilarious bestselling book The Eyre Affair has been chosen to be one of this year’s World Book Night giveaways.

He has also written books for teenagers – The Last Dragonslayer and The Song of the Quarkbeast are set in an alternative magical world in Hereford, while other recent books include Shades of Grey, in which a fragmented society struggle to survive in a colour-obsessed post-apocalyptic landscape.

His latest book, The Woman Who Died a Lot, is the seventh in his brilliant series about the literary detective Thursday Next.

Jasper will be selling and signing his latest books and will be happy to answer questions about his work.

The event is free and is suited to both teenagers and adults. Places are limited and should be booked early by contacting Hereford Library on 01432 383600 or emailing herefordlibrary@hereford shire.gov.uk.
