LEDBURY author Lucy Dillon was named winner of the Contemporary Category of the RoNAs (Romantic Novel Awards) for A Hundred Pieces of Me, published by Hodder & Stoughton. She previously won the Romantic Novel of the Year in 2010, for Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts.
Lucy received her trophy from best-selling author Barbara Taylor-Bradford during a star-studded event in Central London, compèred by Jane Wenham-Jones.
The panel of independent judges called A Hundred Pieces of Me ‘an absorbing, bittersweet tale of decluttering the present and revisiting past relationships'. They said, "The very likeable heroine had soft edges, but was smart. She was sometimes timid, but engaged the reader, making you really feel for her."
The overall winner of Romantic Novel of the Year, selected from the winners of the six categories which included Contemporary, Epic, Historical, Young Adult, RoNA Rose and Romantic Comedy was Joss Stirling with Struck, published by Oxford University Press. Struck (formerly Storm and Stone) is the first Young Adult title to be awarded the RNA's most prestigious prize.
Pia Fenton, Chairman of the RNA said, "Lucy's book was a worthy winner of her category and I'm absolutely thrilled that a Young Adult book has won the overall award of Romantic Novel of the Year."
