Introduction

Have you ever wanted to live in a house in the woods? Have you ever wanted to be tucked away, yet close to a village atmosphere and community, then look no further, this amazing detached stone cottage, surrounded not only by its own garden, but open countryside as well, is the one you need to pick up the phone for!

Property description

A quiet country track, leads you through the woods and opens out into a manicured garden and beautiful stone built cottage. The entrance porch leads to the front door where the lion announces your visit, opening into a magnificent lounge and dining room, this wonderful room with two distinct ends has beamed ceiling and walls and an inglenook with large oil burning stove, with oak beamed mantle to one end and space for a ten seat dining table at the other, with window seat inset into bay window overlooking the rear garden. This room just offers so much, and one just wants to sit with a good book, nestled by the fireplace with your feet tucked under you. From the dining end you enter the kitchen, with beamed ceiling and inset lighting , a range of floor and wall units and useful breakfast bar, from the kitchen there is a utility room or prep kitchen for the nights when visitors are due and supper for many needs to be prepared. A door to the garage is located from the utility and staircase leads to a guest suite or as is currently used an artist's studio. The studio is triple aspect with patio doors opening onto the garden, beamed ceiling and Edwardian night bathrooms of toilet and sink, the light from the windows makes this an ideal studio or home office.

Back down the stairs to the utility and there is a door to an inner hall with space for coats and wellies, and door to downstairs shower room. At the end of the inner hall through a door you enter a large conservatory with brick built fireplace, tigers and monkeys are hidden amongst the tall plants and it seems a shame that they will flee their jungle style home, and move to pastures new. Tiled flooring, a vaulted style ceiling just make this an amazing entertaining space or could be the complete opposite in a quiet room; the conservatory leads you in a circle back to the place you originally started to hallway with shower and WC. The main staircase leads to a large beamed landing with doors to all rooms. The family bathroom is at the top of the landing and has tongue and grooving a white suite and part tiled walls, the master bedroom is on the right hand side and has sliding patio onto a roof terrace with steps leading down to the garden. Bedroom two and three are of similar size. Bedroom three having an ensuite toilet or as used to be called an 'Edwardian' night bathroom. There is nothing that this house does not offer.

Garden

The gardens of Manor Farm Cottage are manicured with well stocked beds and borders. There are so many aspects to this garden, that I would need to write a gardening journal in order to tell you in detail of its hidden treasure, including a gargoyle who watches over the owners from hidden corner. There is a pond and various seating areas, the gardens are like walking around a small stately home and have to be viewed to be appreciated.

Outbuildings and parking

There are two garages at the property, one is double and the other is located beside the double, and is a further single. There is a detached workshop to the right of the property as you come up the drive, all have power and light.

Services

A well supplies water to the pump in the garden, electricity, oil fired central heating and septic tank are connected.
