CHILDREN at a Hereford nursery helped raise almost £500 for a charity which helps other youngsters who struggle to communicate.
Whitecross Day Nursery joined the Chatterbox Challenge this year – an initiative which aims to help improve communication skills for children under five through learning songs and completing activities to help strengthen their development.
The pupils were involved in a number of fundraising activities – including fancy dress and a cake sale.
Michaela Bedwell, deputy supervisor in the nursery's rainbow room, said: "We received a letter and decided to get involved and help support the charity as we support children with various learning difficulties.
"Children came in dressed up, we had a big role play area and the whole nursery was involved.
"It went really well and we raised a total of £492."
She added that the nursery tries to get involved in most fundraising challenges if it can.
