TWO athletes inspired and motivated primary school pupils during a visit to Hereford.
British Athletic Team high jumper Mike Edwards and hurdler Edi Okoro visited Lord Scudamore Primary School in Friar Street last week.
The athletes spoke to the children about their training routines and their own motivation, followed by training games.
Jamie Gittins and Christian Pember are PE co-ordinators at the school.
Mr Gittins said: "The main job for us is to expand opportunities within the school for PE.
"We are trying to offer more opportunities to take part in sports which are often overlooked."
The athletes visited as part of a Sports for Schools initiative.
Sports for Schools run athlete-led physical activities events to inspire kids (to do more sport), raise money for PE equipment in schools (over £1m to date), and support GB and Olympic athletes financially.
Mr Gittins said the pupils really enjoyed the visit and were "buzzing" afterwards.
He said one parent told him her daughter was so inspired that she went home and did a number of exercises, which she would not normally do.
