Debra Orr

Debra began her working life in her home county of Yorkshire, where, before finding her way into the world of local press, she worked as an HR officer for the US company Sara Lee, and as a sales consultant in both an estate agent and a travel agency.

Her first role in local press was as a regional advertising manager in Yorkshire before moving to Worcestershire 15 years ago, where she joined Newsquest in the advertising department.

When her husband’s job took the family to Melbourne, Australia, Debra took the opportunity to spend days with her daughter and evenings working towards qualifications in business management and training. On returning to the UK, she put her new skills to good use, setting up a family data-management business, where she spent seven years as operations director.

A phone call in 2013 then changed the course of her life again and brought her back to Newsquest as Head of Media for Gloucestershire, transferring to the Hereford office in 2017 as Sales Director with responsibility for all Hereford division’s publications in print and online.
