ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984-SECTION 14(1)(a) THE A49 TRUNK ROAD (HEREFORD, HEREFORDSHIRE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A49 Trunk Road, at Hereford in the District of the County of Herefordshire to allow resurfacing road markings and road stud replacement works to be carried out. The effect of the Order will be to -
(1) impose a 10 miles per hour speed restriction on the A49 from a point 50 metres south of its roundabout junction with the A465 Belmont Road, to the roundabout junction with the Newmarket Street, at Hereford when signs indicating convoy working are displayed;
(2) close -
a) the A49 between its roundabout junction with the A465 Belmont Road and its roundabout junction with the A438 Newmarket Street, at Hereford;
b) close any gap in the central reservation of the A49, opposite its junction with the length of the A49 described in 2) a) above; and
c) prohibit vehicles from entering or leaving the length of the A49 described in 2) a) above, at its junction with any side road;
d) prohibit vehicles from turning right from the southbound carriageway of the A49 into Eign Street.
The work will be carried out overnight between 20.00 hours and 06.00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 11 September 2017 and continue for approximately three weeks. The Order will come into force on 4 September 2017. Vehicles being used by the emergency services will be exempt from the speed restriction and closure and prohibitions. Vehicles being used for special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closure and prohibitions. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. Diversion routes via the A449, the A4172, and the A417 and vice versa will be signed.
