JOHN GERRISH Of Dilwyn Passed away suddenly on Monday, February 17th, 2020, aged 83 years. Loving Husband of the late Anne. Father of Andrew and Julian. Adored Grandpa of Rachel, Rebecca and Jonathan. Following a private family Cremation, a Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate John's life will be held at the Church of St Mary, Dilwyn at 3 p.m., on Thursday, March 12th. Family flowers only but donations, if desired, to Cancer Research UK. Dark clothing is not essential and the family request you wear a splash of red. Funeral arrangements by Oak Tree Funeral Services of the Cemetery Chapel, Kington and 6, Castle Close, Eardisley. Tel. 01544 327829.

Saddened to hear of John's passing. Although he became Head after I left High Arcal he and my father Richard Dews became firm friends and communicated regularly up to my dads death in 1993. I enjoyed a couple of events in his company and well remember John's generosity of spirit and above all his beautiful baritone speaking voice.

As a family you can be justifiably proud of such a man even if accompanied by the pain of his loss. Sleep well John.
