DAVID ERNEST HUKE Passed away suddenly at home on June 9th 2019, aged 86 years. Beloved Husband of Esther, Loving Father of Stephen and Katherine and a much loved Grandfather. Funeral service at Wellington Parish Church on Monday June 24th 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Followed by Private Cremation. Family flowers only please and donations if desired to Wellington Church and The Organist Benevolent Fund. I was so saddened to receive this news. Mr Huke taught me at school and, more importantly, encouraged me in my singing in the school choir and other school singing groups, giving me opportunities to sing in Hereford Cathedral and beyond. He used to say to me, "Best girl in the school. Apart from all the others', as in fact he did to everyone. He was wonderful, combining a mischievous sense of humour with incredible musicianship, enthusiasm and more than a touch of hilarious eccentricity. The choir room was always packed when he was in charge. He later played with his band at my wedding which was the perfect musical choice on a day when so many different worlds came together.
