Daniel Anderson lavished praise on Leon Pryce after the stand-off inspired St Helens to a crushing 54-0 win over Harlequins at the Stoop.
Pryce dominated proceedings as the visitors ran in 10 tries to overtake Leeds at the top of the engage Super League.
And Saints coach Anderson was purring about Pryce, saying: "I thought Leon was absolutely brilliant - he was totally on fire."
"He has trained exceptionally hard over the last two years to get to where he is today," Anderson added.
"He came originally with a completely different body shape and has really worked hard."
The Saints supremo also found much to enjoy from the rest of his side's display as they racked up the points.
"It was a very, very good performance," he said. "We scored some exceptional tries - I was gobsmacked myself. We were by no means perfect but it was a great display."
Harlequins coach Brian McDermott admitted his side had struggled to cope, saying: "The scoreline makes it look like we rolled over but we did not. Saints were just white hot.
"It is worrying for the rest of the competition the way they are playing at the moment.
"We are struggling with injuries but that would be too easy an answer. It is a reason but it is not an excuse. We just have to put our bodies on the line and battle through."
