Man sought after woman found dead
Police have warned the public not to approach a man wanted in connection with the death of a woman following a domestic incident.
Cleveland Police did not name the suspect they are seeking following the discovery of a body at an address in Cherwell Terrace, Bramble's Farm, Middlesbrough, at 1am.
A force spokeswoman said: "The man police are trying to trace in connection with the incident is believed to be white, in his 40s, around 6ft 2in tall and of proportionate build.
"He has short, dark brown hair and was last seen wearing a chequered shirt, dark jeans and black trainers.
"Police believe this has been a targeted, domestic-related incident. However, they are appealing for anyone who has seen this man or knows of his whereabouts not to approach him directly but to get in touch with Cleveland Police via 999."
The scene was heavily guarded by police and a white forensics tent had been set up in the front yard of the brick-built terrace house.
Residents of the estate remained tight-lipped.
One woman in a nearby property, who declined to be named, said: "All I saw were lots of blue lights and this morning they said someone had been murdered - a lass, I think. It's a good estate - you don't expect this."
Another resident, who lives a few doors down, said: "I was woken at about 4am and the police came round to talk to us.
"It's just rumours flying round at the moment. This is a quiet road of the estate. It's mainly older people who live here. Everyone just keeps themselves to themselves."
