Jeremy Renner and Taylor Kitsch are being honoured at this year's CinemaCon awards in the US.

Avengers Assemble star Jeremy is set to receive the male star of the year prize at the event, while Battleship's Taylor will pick up the male star of tomorrow prize.

Meanwhile, Judd Apatow - director of This Is 40 and The Five-Year Engagement - will be celebrated for excellence in filmmaking.

CinemaCon's Mitch Neuhauser praised Jeremy for his "quiet and explosive intensity" on screen.

He added: "We are so pleased to be honouring such a deserving actor."

CinemaCon attracts more than 5,000 cinema owners and industry professionals from around the world each year.

The 2012 gongs will be handed out on April 26 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
