McCarthy worried Oscar is a prank

Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy has joked she is still waiting to be told her Oscar nomination is a prank.

The 41-year-old actress has earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her hilarious performance in the comedy film, but revealed she still can't believe it is really happening to her.

Melissa said: "I keep pinching myself and I really hope I don't get the call where someone goes 'kidding!'."

The Gilmore Girls star and comedian doesn't take her newfound stardom for granted, confessing she still worries about having to go back to waitressing if she doesn't get cast in enough roles.

Melissa revealed: "It makes me go back to my first acting classes and all those times you just think 'Oh, if I could just get a commercial I could go down to two jobs'.

"And I still have that mentality of 'Let me have a job!' And I think I'm going to have to go wait tables again.

"I just always wanted to do work and I wanted to like it. And to have this with something I like doing too is kind of an added bonus."

Melissa needn't worry for now, as she has several roles in the pipeline and will appear in comedy This Is 40 later this year.
