Robert De Niro, Kate Beckinsale and Drew Barrymore hit the red carpet for the star-studded premiere of their new film Everybody's Fine at Hollywood's AFI Festival.
Drew was the late arrival of the evening, wearing a beautiful floor length purple ballgown and apologetically waving at the crowds.
However, British actress Kate was more than thrilled to chat about having an acting legend like Robert De Niro play her dad in the movie.
"When you're 16 and at drama school you think 'wow, one day I wish I could be in the same room as him' so playing his daughter is amazing.
"It was great, we very much felt like a family. Bob was lovely, very care-taking and solicitous and lovely to us all and was extremely nice to my daughter who's in the movie.
"All in all I was sorry when it was over," she laughed.
The legendary actor arrived early at the special screening but would only wave to reporters on the red carpet.
Director Kirk Jones explained: "He is private and I don't think if you look in the dictionary under genius actor it doesn't say anywhere they have to be great at chat shows and interviews.
"I don't think it's something that comes natural to him and it doesn't have to when he says everything that he wants to say on screen. I think that's more than enough. I respect the fact that he's remained so private over the years."
