Robert Redford discusses film work

Hollywood legend Robert Redford is touching down in Dublin for a public interview at Trinity College. The film-maker and environmental campaigner will discuss his work before a specially invited audience in TCD's Edmund Burke Theatre.

The 71-year-old American has starred in almost 70 films and is best known for his roles in Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, The Sting and All The President's Men.

He won his first Oscar as a director for the emotional family drama Ordinary People in 1980. His other directorial credits include A River Runs Through It and The Horse Whisperer in the 1990s. A supporter of independent film, he founded the Sundance Film Festival in 1985, which is seen as the premier US showcase for new independent films.
