Celebrity Big Brother contestant Dennis Rodman has been charged with domestic violence for allegedly hitting his girlfriend at a hotel.
Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez says ex-basketball star Rodman, who appeared on the reality show in January 2006, was charged with spousal battery, brandishing a deadly weapon, and one count of dissuading a witness. The charges were misdemeanours.
The 46-year-old was arrested at a hotel on April 30 after Gina Peterson called security staff. Police say she received injuries to her arm.
Rodman's spokesman Darren Prince said Rodman had had too much to drink when he got into an argument with Ms Peterson. He said the couple were still dating.
"We look forward to a successful resolution of this misdemeanour matter," said Rodman's lawyer, Paul Meyer.
