So, seven games in, we're bottom of the league.
No wins, three draws, four losses, three points and a goal difference of minus 15.
Still, we've got a run of three successive home games to come - all against in-form sides, two of which are vying for first and second place.
Can't complain - we tempted football's fates in wanting home games when the showers were shut off.
The fates tipped that back over us.
A 4-0 loss at Warstone sent us to the bottom, weighted down by fellow strugglers Shenstone somehow pulling off a 0-5 win away to third placed Mahal.
Another of the freak results so far this season that we don't seem to get a share of or break from.
The mix and match side we sent out at Warstone didn't do too badly in circumstances that saw the striker we so desperately needed to get into the game playing in goal.
And saving us from real hammering.
On Saturday it's Smethwick AFC who beat us 6-1 at York Road just a few weeks ago.
And they're coming to Briarwood scenting blood on a run that's taken them to second place on 19 points having played 8, won 6, drawn 1 and lost 2 with a goal difference of 23.
All to play for then...
