Westfields stay top after Midland Alliance win at Kirby Muxloe

Kirby Muxloe 1 Westfields 3.

WESTFIELDS maintained top spot in the Midland Alliance with a fine 3-1 win at Kirby Muxloe.

Jamie Cuss was brought down in the fifth minute to allow Anthony Robbins to fire the city side ahead from the penalty spot.

But Sam Taylor linked well with Sam Verrall before shooting past Matt Gwynne to level the scores 15 minutes later.

Substitute Richard Kear, who had replaced Sam Gwynne at the break, put Westfields ahead on 78 minutes after the home side had been reduced to 10 men when one of their players received a second yellow card.

The visitors pressed home their advantage when Kear cracked home his second after a neat one-two with Daryl Addis.
