WESTFIELDS jumped up to third place in the Miland Alliance league table with a 2-1 home win against Nottingham team Dunkirk.
Fields welcomed back Richard Kear who last season bagged 17 goals before being snapped up by Swindon Super Marine.
Kear has now rejoined the allpay.park outfit to link up in attack with current leading scorer Darryl Addis.
In the 10th minute Kear showed he has lost none of his appetite for scoring when he cooly slotted the ball home from 12 yards following a fine run by Carl Morgan and a pass into his path by former Hereford United player Craig Jones. On 20 minutes, Addis emphasised the twin threat when he tucked away a Morgan corner on the near post.
When Dunkirk retaliated, both Terry Green and Gareth Thomas were forced to clear shots away from the home goalline before the visitors scored on the hour.
After Jones had hit a post for Fields and Jamie Cuss was foiled by a brilliant double save, some resolute defending ensured a fourth league win of the season.
q Leominster Town maintained their unbeaten start to the West Midlands League Division 2 campaign with a hard fought 2-1 win at Warstones Wanderers Reserves.
The Wolverhampton outfit did not allow Leominster to settle and took the lead on 20 minutes.
Town began to establish a foothold and Mark Rusling scored a rare headed goal on half time to send the teams in on level terms.
Dave Cooper performed heroics in the Town goal to frustrate Wanderers in the second half and capped a fine display by saving a penalty.
Leominster scored a fine winning goal when Cory Hyde broke clear on the left and played a precision pass into the path of Keith Jones who crashed the ball home.
q PEGASUS Juniors came from two goals down to beat Wokingham & Emmbrook 3-2 to gain their first points of the Hellenic League Premier Division season.
Stunned by conceding as early as the second minute at their Old School Lane headquarters, Juniors nearly equalised when captain Chris Mortlock lashed a shot against the post.
But, after 42 minutes, the visitors increased their lead.
Whatever retiring manager Steve Griffiths said at half-time must have worked because Mark Smith headed home a Matt Maturi free-kick after 49 minutes and Mortlock levelled from the penalty spot after being tackled from behind. Mortlock completed the turnround with an 83rd minute winner after being fed by strike partner Tom Boyle.
q WELLINGTON bowed out of the FA Vase with a 2-1 reverse after dominating the first half at Bewdley with Will Perkins hitting a post.
Bewdley took the lead with a free header before Wayne McNeil and Matt Wargen combined for Wargen to equalise. Seven minutes from time, however, the visitors left the back post unattended to concede the winning goal.
