Studley 0 Westfields 1.
A 24th-minute goal from leading marksman Daryl Addis gave Westfields a hard-working away win in the Aspire Midland Alliance.
Manager Sean Edwards made five changes to the team which lost the HFA County Challenge Cup final - and the switches paid dividends.
Terry Green shot over the Studley crossbar in the early stages before Jamie Moore in the Westfields’ goal twice cut out dangerous crosses.
Westfields opened the scoring when Tom Harding’s dipping shot was palmed away by the Studley keeper and Daryl Addis headed home.
Studley fought back but Tom Sparey and Phil Glover stood firm at the heart of the Westfields defence.
Jamie Moore saved brilliantly from Ian Mitchell immediately after the interval and then Glover had a close-range effort cleared off the Studley line.
Moore dived full length to make a brave save at the foot of a post and then Sparey headed away two dangerous Studley crosses.
Westfields introduced late substitutes Will Tolley and Mike Evans and the teenagers worked hard to maintain Westfields’ lead.
Bustleholme 6 Wellington 1.
WELLINGTON crashed to a heavy defeat after conceding five first-half goals in this West Midlands League Premier Division match.
The villagers trailed 4-0 inside 20 minutes after Bustleholme scored two penalties and two other goals.
Bustleholme are the form side in the division and had not lost since being beaten by Wellington 18 matches ago.
Dale Withers provided Wellington’s bright spot on a miserable afternoon when he netted the villagers’ consolation goal after 62 minutes.
