WESTFIELDS reached their first Polymac Services League Cup final after a nail-biting semi-final second leg on Tuesday night.
Leading 3-1 from the first leg, Westfields lost 2-1 in the second leg at allpay.park but edged past Coleshill Town 4-3 on aggregate.
Westfields will now face Causeway United or Coventry Sphinx in the final at Walsall Football Club’s Banks’s Stadium on Tuesday, May 11.
The Hereford club had to defend for long periods against a lively Coleshill side who struck the bar after just three minutes.
But Westfields took an 18th-minute lead when Tom Sparey headed the hosts in front after a goalmouth scramble.
Coleshill levelled after the interval through Matt Robinson and went 2-1 ahead from Luke Williams’ 78th minute penalty.
Coleshill pushed for a third goal but Westfields’ defence held firm to book their cup final trip to Walsall.
Causeway United and Coventry Sphinx play their semi-final second leg tonight (Thursday).
Ledbury Town’s hopes of reaching the West Midlands League Cup final suffered a blow at AFC Wulfrunians on Tuesday.
Ledbury lost 3-1 at Wulfrunians in the first leg of their semi-final. The second leg is at Ledbury's New Street ground on April 28.
Bromyard Town lost 3-2 at Bloxwich United in the West Midlands League Premier Division.
