WESTFIELDS crashed out of the FA Cup following a 4-1 loss at Barwell in a game that saw the Hereford side's goalkeeper Jon Pugh sent off.

Pugh received his marching orders for allegedly handling the ball outside the area.

The goalkeeper, who is head coach of the England Blind Football team, was replaced by captain Jamie Cuss.

But the midfielder could do nothing to stop Barwell progressing to the second qualifying round, where they will face Cogenhoe United.

Westfields trailed 1-0 at the break thanks to an Anthony Carney goal before Pugh was dismissed.

The resulting free-kick saw Danny Gaunt drive the ball past the Westfields wall and increase the Staffordshire side's lead.

Barwell also went down to ten men after Eddy Nisevic was carried off, with the home side having used all their three substitutions.

But Alex Tomkinson later headed home to seal victory for Barwell before a Westfields free-kick from Craig Jones was deflected home by James Febery.

There was still time for Carney to score another goal for the home side in injury time.
