Westfields 2 Coleshill 2
AFTER fighting back to take the lead early in the second period, Westfields failed to hold on to their advantage and had to settle for a Midland League Premier Division point against a physical Coleshill side.
Coleshill made the most of some early pressure to take the lead on 33 minutes.
Target man Shane Benjamin’s quick throw-in found Piggon who found space to shoot past Matt Gwynne.
Fields were back on level terms eight minutes later when Deqwon Banks was brought down in the area and Marcus Palmer stroked home the resulting penalty.
Early in the second half, Tom Boyle went close with a curling effort before Gwynne came to Westfields rescue.
The keeper dived to keep out a penalty from Benjamin after a clumsy tackle by a home defender.
Fields took advantage of Coleshill’s disappointment to take the lead when a ferocious 20-yard drove from Mat Reeve screamed past visiting keeper Chris Jay.
Rather than go on and win the game, Westfields were pressed back and Gwynne pulled off a good save to turn a curling free-kick from Thomas Weale on to the bar.
But, seven minutes from the end, Coleshill got back on level terms when Simeon Cobourne made ground into the Westfields area before shooting under Gwynne.
