Westfields 1 Tividale 2

TIVIDALE are fast becoming a bogey side for Sean Edwards’ men and came from behind to snatch the points at allpay.park.

The Wolverhampton outfit had already knocked Westfields out of the FA Vase earlier in the campaign.

And Tividale scored two second-half goals last Saturday to dent the Hereford club’s hopes of a return to top spot.

Ex-Leominster Town boss Sam Bowen made a substitute appearance for Westfields and he headed Carl Morgan’s cross narrowly wide in the dying minutes.

Westfields had five players missing through injury and suspension but took the lead in the 40th minute of an exciting first half.

Craig Jones put Carl Morgan free on the right wing and Morgan cut inside to unleash a fierce 20-yard drive which sailed into the net after a deflection.

Tividale also threatened in an end-to-end first half and Chris Russell narrowly failed to get on the end of a left wing cross.

The visitors put pressure on the Westfields defence after the interval with Phil Harris and Scott Jackson both making timely tackles.

Aaron Hopkinson and Morgan both had chances for Westfields before Tividale pulled level in the 68th minute.

Westfields failed to clear a right-wing corner and Joel Kettle was on the spot, firing home the leveller past Jamie Moore.

Tividale scored the winner with just 10 minutes remaining after Westfields had failed to clear another corner. Andy Parsons headed home.

Craig Jones fired over and substitute Sam Pearson, another former Leominster Town player, also blazed over the bar as Westfields slumped to their second consecutive home defeat.
