A MAN who can lay claim to being Westfields’ most loyal fan has missed his first home match in 11 years.

Simon Paget had been to 295 successive Westfields’ first-team home matches since October 1999.

However, Simon’s epic run finally came to an end when he went to a friend’s wedding on the day of Westfields’ FA Cup defeat against Market Drayton Town.

“I have never played football in my life. My dad took me to my first Westfields game in 1994. I enjoyed it and I started getting into Westfields from there.”

Westfields chief executive Andy Morris said Simon was the first person to buy a club replica playing shirt.

“He comes by train or car and has followed us all over the country during the good times and the bad times,” he said.
