FORMER Hereford United boss John Layton has been appointed as the new manager of Aspire Midland Alliance side Westfields.
Layton, a former Westfields and Hereford player, who also managed Gloucester City and Trowbridge Town, takes over following the resignation of Darren Lynch.
Layton, 57, has also worked for the FA, coaching in Pakistan and Mauritius, and is an FA ‘A’ Licence coach.
“We are delighted we have secured John Layton as our new manager,” said Westfields chief executive Andy Morris.
“He is a top coach and a respected manager who will be the ideal person to lead the club forward after the good work done by Darren Lynch and Sean Edwards in previous years.”
Layton will be supported by assistant manager Jon Hill and physio/coach Brian Jones.
