TRAILING by a goal going into added time, Sutton United turned their game with Westfields Reserves at Amberley Park on its head.
They netted twice to win 4-3 and maintain their challenge at the top of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division.
Playing with the slope and a strong wind in their favour, the city side went into a two-goal lead.
Both goals were scored by Zibigniew Nowicki, the first a chip from close to halfway. Then he took the ball 30 yards out with his back to goal, spun around and fired the ball home, both times catching the home keeper off his line.
Danny Hill pulled a goal back but Phil Glover fouled Nick Butler and Paul Jones restored Westfields' two-goal lead from the penalty spot. Hill closed the gap with a shot from outside the area.
With the final whistle approaching Hill completed his hat trick with a header from a corner, and then in a generous amount of extra time Rod Haslam, under pressure, headed the ball past his own keeper to give the home side the win.
Ewyas Harold retained top spot with a 2-0 win at Kington Town in a hard-fought match at Mill Street.
Tony Richards played the ball in and Ben Corner hit the post from close-range as Kington threatened to take the lead, in a rare piece of goalmouth action during a defence-dominated first half.
Richards also fired a shot just wide of the target in the early part of the second half.
As time went on the Harold began to create problems for the home side with some pacy attacks and Bobby Smith in the home goal was forced to make some good saves.
Matt Pitt managed to beat him three times. The first came from a tight angle, and although the second was disallowed for offside, Pitt was not to be denied and he ran 30-yards to extend the visitors' lead.
Kington still had their moments, Corner rattling the woodwork for a second time following an impressive four-man move.
Woofferton lost ground on the leading pair when they surprisingly went down 2-0 at Bartestree, but the result produced three welcome points for the home side.
Bartestree made a number of changes to the side that lost heavily to the same opponents in the cup the previous weekend, and played a lot better. Play was mainly confined to midfield during a goalless first half.
Midway through the second half, Woofferton's Joe Parker was caught in possession by Greg Cutter who crossed for the unmarked Matt Aubrey to turn the ball past keeper Dave Cooper and give Bartestree the lead. A subdued Woofferton were sparked into life at this point.
Daniel Taylor in the home goal found himself in the thick of the action, making a number of saves during the final quarter. Woofferton's luck was out when Danny Gower beat Taylor but saw his effort hit the inside of the post and away to safety.
Paul Monteath fed Aubrey and his shot squirmed between Cooper's hands to put the home side two-up 10 minutes from time. They were camped in their own half but held on.
Lads Club and Colwall Rangers shared the points in a 2-2 draw at the County Ground, a result that leaves both sides struggling to make any impact on the top of the table.
The first half was goalless, with the home team in control but unable to break the deadlock. Mike Olive struck the woodwork and Rangers keeper Adam McTear saved well in a one-on-one situation with Josh Dallow, from the two most dangerous situations.
Ben Arnold was injured and had to be replaced by Stuart Jones, causing the home side to reorganise their line-up. John Buchanan sent Josh Dallow through to put the city side one up soon after the restart.
Rangers had been woeful until this point, but with a change in formation bucked themselves up to dominate the remainder of the game. The reliable Jamie Welch grabbed the equaliser from an acute angle and Dan Herbert seized on a defensive slip to put them in front.
Buchanan scored a fine late individual goal to retrieve a point, a fair result taken over the 90 minutes.
Leominster Town produced a sterling second-half performance to beat home side Fownhope 6-1 after going in a goal down at the break.
Fownhope were good value for their first half lead in blustery conditions. Town recaptured their early season form after the break and produced some fine attacking play.
Fownhope weren't out of the picture though, Chris Yarranton in the visitors' goal making some fine saves along the way.
Jason Evans levelled the score soon after the restart and went on to claim a hat-trick.
His strike partner Dan George helped himself to a couple of goals to end a barren spell, whilst Alex Trezins completed the scoring with a powerful shot from a narrow angle.
