WESTFIELDS will hold a minute's silence before next Thursday's friendly match with Worcester City in honour of one of their oldest supporters, Fred Jones, who has died at the age of 93.

Fred, who was a club vice-president, officially opened Westfields' sponsors lounge with Jesse Norman MP.

A former Worcester City player, Fred later scouted for Nottingham Forest and Mansfield, discovering Ian Woan and Alex Sykes.

During the summer months, Fred was often to be found watching cricket at Garnons, where he was also a great supporter.

His funeral will be held at Holmer Church on Tuesday at 10.30am.
