Exeter City 4 Hereford United 1.

TWO goals on the stroke of half-time condemned Hereford to a defeat in this Puma Youth Alliance Under-18 South West Division match.

The game started at a lively pace and Exeter caused a number of problems for Hereford, particularly down the left.

Both sides created chances before Exeter broke the deadlock after great anticipation from a home defender.

Exeter scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the half - including an own goal by James Cartwright after a spill by Liam Brewer.

Hereford were given renewed hope after the interval when substitute Mike Evans fired home and Chris Freddi sent a header inches wide.

Goalkeeper Brewer made two excellent saves to keep Hereford in the match and then Joe Loftus struck an Exeter post.

But the home side wrapped up the win with a fourth goal in the dying minutes.
