STRIKER Theo Robinson bade farewell to Edgar Street with his 18th goal of the season.

The 19-year-old signed off from his season-long loan spell with Hereford’s second goal against Grimsby.

Hereford’s top-scorer confirmed that he will be back at Watford for pre-season training.

Speaking after his last Hereford appearance, Robinson said: “It has been a long, hard season and we grafted until the end. It has been my first pro season and I have learnt a lot about the game. I set myself a target of 20 goals and I should have reached that today, really. “I had quite a few chances and their goalkeeper made a couple of good saves. I wanted to make sure I was Hereford’s top goal-scorer – and I have done that – so I am pleased.” Robinson is looking forward to returning to Watford – but he plans to keep up-to-speed with developments at Hereford.

“I am back at Watford next season and, hopefully, I will be knocking on the first-team door - that’s my aim for the next eight to 12 months. “It’s been a good learning curve at Hereford and an exceptional season. “I will keep talking to a few of the Hereford boys after each game to find out how they have done.” He added: “When I arrived in pre-season training, the club only had 10 players, so I knew I would get my chance. Hopefully, I have taken it. “I have enjoyed my time at Hereford and I want to thank the fans for getting behind me.” Midfielder Toumani Diagouraga, pictured left, sporting some fancy head gear, was pleased that the Bulls finished the campaign on a high.

“It was a very good way to end the season. We didn’t want to disappoint at home on the last day of the season. It was a good win.” Diagouraga also enjoyed his spell at Edgar Street – his first full season as a professional.

His contract has not been renewed by Watford and Graham Turner will be hoping to secure the services of the skilful midfielder.

“All I wanted to do was play football and I played 41 league games, I think. I have very much enjoyed it,” he said.

Diagouraga added: “I am not sure what is happening for next season. I might be back at Hereford. There are a few discussions going on at the moment. Hopefully, it will all be sorted in the next couple of weeks. I am just glad we got promoted.”
