SIR, I was a spectator at the 6-1 demolition of Hereford United on Saturday and was delighted to see my team (Bristol Rovers) in such great form.

However, I feel that I must pay tribute to your team which kept trying to play entertaining football against all the odds but particularly to your fantastically loyal supporters who kept cheering their team right to the end. In fact, when they scored their consolation goal in extra time you would have thought that they had won the game! In my experience, most teams would have been booed off the pitch at half-time after a scoreline like that.

I wish your team the best of luck and I am sure that with loyal support like that it will not be long before you climb the table.

Yours faithfully, Terry Langley.
