Hereford keep pressing as the game is punctuated by a series of petty niggles.


Smith has a great chance to level for the Bulls when he’s played in by James but Bartlett is quickly off his line to save bravely and well.



Hereford, with a more emphatic 4-3-3 formation, press forward and Brown has a low shot saved.


Bowen collects a caution, just before being replaced as one of two Hereford substitutions.
Referee Cook then yellow-cards Magnay as  he sets up building up his quota for the game.


Purdie does well to block Maddison’s effort on 64 minutes with the ball running out for a corner.


Lloyd-Weston saves brilliantly from Chandler as Heed are content to hit the Bulls on the counter-attack.


Brown wastes a good shooting opportunity, blazing over from 25 yards with Purdie on the overlap.


But Murphy comes close to an equaliser with a 30-yard drive which draws a blinding save from Bartlett.
Hereford force two more corners in quick succession afterwards but the second is cleared to safety.




As Gateshead make a lively start to the second half, Lloyd-Weston dives to block a Maddison shot at the second attempt.


Maddison wastes the free-kick but shooting over from 25 yards.


There’s a booking for Murphy on 44 minutes although he clearly wins the ball.


Gateshead are still attacking strongly and look confident.


But Gateshead are swiftly back on the attack and gain a corner of their own on 29 minutes. Oster swings the ball in and Chandler’s volley from the edge of the area flashes just wide.


The Hereford defence is undone on 36 minutes.
Marwood receives the ball and makes space to shoot past Lloyd-Weston.


Hereford, after sustained Gateshead pressure, force a corner on 34 minutes.
Artus delivers the cross but Collins’ header lacks pace.
Gateshead break out and O’Donnell’s shot provides little threat to Lloyd-Weston.


Magnay’s effort is much better on 25 minutes with Lloyd-Weston having to leap to his right to push the ball out for a corner.


Jamie Chandler lets fly at the other but the shot goes a long way wide of the target.


He provides the free-kick which sees Collins head just inches wide.


Murphy showing up well in midfield as the Bulls enjoying a good share of the play.


Marcus Maddison then scuffs a shot wide of the target as the visitors enjoy a better spell.


A dangerous cross from O’Donnell flashes through the Bulls goalmouth as Gateshead respond.


On six minutes, Dom Collins has to concede the first corner of the game but Luke Graham heads clear.
The injury-prone Pilkington has to be substituted after six minutes.
Rankine blasts in a 30-yarder from a free-kick but Bartlett makes a good save at the expense of a corner.
Graham gets on the end of the Artus cross but heads wide.


Hereford are pressing Gateshead back in their own half as they close down well in the early stages.



HEREFORD boss Peter Beadle announces an unchanged team for the visit of play-off chasing Gateshead.
This means a home debut for youth-teamer Billy Murphy who impressed on his first outing at Welling.
Former Bulls favourite Adam Bartlett is in goal for Gateshead.
