4:50pm

As time runs down, McKeown, who has had little to do, does well to grasp a cross from Brown at the far post.

4:44pm

With Hereford sending more men forward, a drilled effort from Leadbitter flashes low through the goalmouth and inches wide.
Fine skill by Rodman at the other end sees the midfielder fire in a 25-yarder which draws a fine save from Lloyd-Weston at the expense of a corner.

4:36pm

Artus sends a shot high and wide before wasting a corner who sails over everybody to safety.

4:33pm

Grimsby win a corner on 70- minutes and Kerr’s cross is headed away by Walker before Purdie completes the clearance.
Hereford make a double substitution on 72 minutes.
One of the replacements is Leadbitter whose first act is to be hacked down by Kerrr, who is shown his second yellow card of the game.

4:21pm

Out of nothing comes the opening goal.
Kerr’s pass picks out Rodman and he cuts inside Bush before driving a perfect shot into the top corner.

4:15pm

The start of the second half is scrappy with little goalmouth action.
An injury to Sharp, however, sees the striker replaced by Walker.

3:38pm

Hereford are bringing the ball down and trying to play and a good build-up works the ball to Sharp on the left whose cross is wastefully driven out of play.

3:31pm

A minute later, Lloyd-Weston does well to save low with his feet from a Rodman drive.
Kerr’s corner goes out for a throw.

3:30pm

Grimsby win a corner on 30 minutes. Kerr sends in the cross and Lloyd-Weston makes a confident catch.

3:23pm

Cook has another chance for the Mariners after Rodman sends in a precise cross but scuffs his shot well wide of the target.
Hereford, though, respond with a good move down the right involving Purdie and James which ends with Bowen firing into the side-netting.
Jennings immediately responds with a low drive which is easily saved by Lloyd-Weston.

3:19pm

Sharp concedes another free-kick out wide and Kerr’s cross is headed over by Jennings on 20 minutes.

3:14pm

A clumsy foul by Bush on Jennings near the corner flag brings a free-kick. Kerr’s cross flashes across the goalmouth and hits Pearson on its way out.

3:12pm

Hereford are staging some promising attacks and a shot by James is deflected out for a second corner, although this comes to nothing.

3:09pm

Grimsby get away down the right through Rodman but his cross bounces off Jennings to Lloyd-Weston for an easy gather.

3:05pm

A foul by Boyce on Smith in the third minute brings a free-kick on the edge of the box.
Smith’s drive deflects off the wall and out for a corner. Artus swings in the cross; it’s cleared but sent back in by James to Sharp who shoots high over.

3:02pm

The crowd has come in well during the last few minutes and it’s one of the better Edgar Street attendances of the season.

2:36pm

HEREFORD boss Peter Beadle makes one change for the visit of Grimsby as the Bulls look to end their run of 11 games without a win.
Rob Purdie, who came on in place of the injured Rod McDonald at Barnet, retains his place at right-back.
McDonald, who has recovered from a nasty blow to his head in the game at The Hive, is named on the substitutes’ bench where, in an unusual twist, he will be facing his brother Clayton, who is among the Grimsby’s replacements.
Also among the Mariners’ substitutes is former Bull Joe Colbeck.
Danny Leadbitter, who has not played since being injured in the match at Grimsby earlier this month, is also named on the bench.
In spite of the pleas for fans to turn out in force, there are plenty of gaps on the terraces although there is half-an-hour to go until the kick-off.
Hereford: 4-4-2: Lloyd-Weston; Purdie, Graham, Collins, Bush; Bowen, James, Artus, Brown; Smith, Sharp. Subs not used: Leadbitter, McDonald, Walker, Edge, Williams.

This result was rather harsh on Hereford who definitely did enough to get something, if not all 3 points from the game.
Beadle seems to have a much better understanding of the players than Foyle did.
Purdie at right back, Collins at centre half, with James in front of the back 4, Artus in a creative forward role and Brown and Bowen providing the width.
This worked.
What didn't work was Smith and Sharp up front. I would love them to score but I wouldn't put money on either of scoring in a house of ill repute with a thousand euros in their sky rockets. I do not criticize them though, despite this, because they both put a shift in..
Grimsby are a dirty side. We were lucky not to have injuries. Even mild mannered Kingsley James nearly chinned one of em. The sending off was more than justified.

This is the sort of performance that will ensure Hereford get the results necessary to stay in the division. I'd pay to watch that every other week with pleasure.
