Hereford concede a free-kick three minutes into stoppage-time but it’s cleared and Hereford break out with Maxwell saving at Walker’s feet.
Walker’s shot is deflected out for a corner on 86 minutes.
Artus swings the ball in but Maxwell holds on.
Gillies, who continues to look the Cambridge danger-man, shoots high over on 85 minutes.
Cambridge are beginning to look more dangerous and Cunnington smashes a drive into the side-netting.

The substitute concedes a corner on 77 minutes but this only results in a wasteful effort by Richard Tait which flies high over.
A clash of heads between Evans and Lathrope as the pair challenge for the same ball sees the winger forced off to be replaced by Dan Walker.
Hereford remain dangerous on the attack and, after a good headed clearance by Graham, Evans races forward and tests Maxwell with a good low drive.
Cambridge have a chance, moments later, when O’Keefe loses out in midfield and Gillies storms forward before lifting a left-foot drive over the bar.
The visitors have another good chance on 61 minutes when Gilles comes flying forward after a mistake by Bush and slips the ball to Delano Sam-Yorke whose shot is wastefully wide.
Hereford have a chance on 58 minutes when Rankine, who is in fine form, gets the ball in from the left to Evans whose shot, at the second attempt, goes high over.
Rankine wins an early free-kick for Hereford as the Bulls start the second period in promising fashion.
Artus delivers the cross but the ball is cleared.
The Bulls continue the attack and win their first corner on 49 minutes with Lathrope’s cross flashing through the six-yard area with no-one able to get a touch.
Hereford concede a sixth corner in stoppage time; Hereford make a partial clearance and Josh Coulson heads the returned ball wide.
After a good Hereford spell, Cambridge force a corner on 42 minutes.

On 16 minutes a neat turn opens up a shooting chance for Sharp whose low drive is saved by Maxwell.
Cambridge force two-quick-fire corners but the danger is cleared on both occasions.
On 11 minutes, Rankine does well to turn on the edge of the box and makes space for a shot which flashes on the angle past a post and wide.
At the other end, a powerful drive by Gillies is only inches from giving the visitors the lead.
