HEREFORD are up to seventh place in the Blue Square Bet Premier table after achieving back-to-back wins for the first time since November.
The Bulls fell behind early on but hit back to lead through Luke Graham and Ryan Bowman.
An equaliser arrived from Stockport’s skipper James Tunnicliffe but Hereford were not finished and Josh O’Keefe headed the winner 10 minutes from time.
United were unchanged for the fourth successive game to take on Stockport at Edgeley Park.
The Bulls, who were looking to avenge a 2-1 home defeat by the Hatters in October, also had an unchanged substitutes’ bench.
Former Bull Simon Hackney started for Stockport.
Sean Newton made an early raid down the left for Stockport but his cross ended up in the side-netting.
James Bittner had to make a save from Mark Cullen as the Hatters made the early running.
Clucas had to leave the field temporarily after taking a blow to the face.
And the Bulls started to get their attack moving with the Stockport defence coming under pressure as Clucas sent a free-kick into the area.
Kingsley James went after his first Bulls goal on 15 minutes forcing a save from keeper Richard O’Donnell with a powerful 30-yarder.
But Stockport took the lead on 17 minutes after Bittner made a save when Cullen sped on to a weak back-header from Stefan Stam and Adnan Cirak put the ball into the empty net.
Bittner was rather harshly booked for the foul.
Hereford won their first corner of the game on 28 minutes and it brought the equalising goal.
From a short flag-kick, Luke Graham nodded in a cross from Andy Gallinagh to notch his second Bulls goal.
Hereford were still under pressure at the back and Stam had to put in some work to clear his lines as the home side pushed forward.
A couple of offside flags against Josh O’Keefe and then Chris Sharp brought promising Hereford attacks to a close.
Clucas wasted an early chance as the second half got underway, seizing on a poor back-header from Johan Hammar but lifting the ball on to the roof of the net.
The Bulls earned a second corner after 49 minutes which ended with a shot from Marley Watkins which drifts wide.
Sharp also spurned a great chance on 53 minutes, prodding a long-throw from James Musa straight at O’Donnell from inside the six-yard box.
But the Bullswewre ahead a minute later.
Watkins showed plenty of perseverance to get down the flank and delivered the cross for Bowman to head the goal.
Watkins, however, blotted his copybook with a booking three minutes later.
And the home side got back on level terms again on 62 minutes when Hackney’s corner was headed in by the unchallenged James Tunnicliffe.
Hereford still kept attacking and good work by Sharp almost played in Bowman.
But Bittner had to produce a brilliant save on 68 minutes at the expense of a corner as Stockport came powering back.
Hereford were beginning to threaten again on the counter-attack and Bowman’s cross-shot to the far post flashed just wide.
Stam saw a header cleared off the line as the chances kept on coming before a double substitution saw the arrival of Joe Heath and Marlon Jackson with just over 15 minutes to go.
