JAMIE Pitman has been appointed caretaker manager of Hereford's Under-18 team.

The former Hereford United manager, who replaces departing manager Steve Brotherwood, will be assisted by Hereford FC captain Joel Edwards as part of a wider coaching team at United in the Community.

The group will report to Gareth Davies, who is football consultant to the board of trustees, and Adam Jones, site leader and tutor for the scholarship programme.

United in the Community have today confirmed a re-organisation of the coaching and office team.

They begin their new roles on Monday, with Jonny Evans remaining as physio.

In other developments, Kerry Pugh has assumed the role of academy administrator with current Under-15s coach Liam Brewer also taking the role of academy head coach.

Val Lambert, who is the secretary at the HFA, also joins UITC as interim office manager.

UITC spokesman Nick Vaughan said: "I would like to thank Steve Brotherwood for his commitment to UITC in the years he has spent with us as coach and latterly, as community manager.

"On behalf of the Board of Trustees we wish him the very best of luck with his future endeavours.

"I am delighted to welcome Val Lambert to the UITC team who I have every confidence will help us continue to improve the back office functions of the organisation as we seek to improve and extend all the activtiies which we are committed to providing for the local community.
