HEREFORD manager Jon Taylor is targeting a lucrative run in the FA Trophy after drawing Mangotsfield United at home in the second qualifying round draw.

United will face the Bristol-based Evo-Stik Southern League West & South-West club at Edgar Street on November 15 after disposing of AFC Totton 2-1 away last Saturday.

"Mangotsfield come from the same division as Totton and, while I don't yet know a great deal about them, I'm sure they will be well organised," said Taylor.

"There is prestige in having a good run in this competition and, in monetary terms, it's worth a few bob to the club.

"We will not be taking the game lightly and will have them watched.

"It would be great to have a good run the Trophy and the better we do, the more people we will attract through the turnstiles, which is another important consideration."

Hereford will have local boy Bradley Williams in their line-up for the home Evo-Stik Southern Premier clash with Arlesey on Saturday.

The central midfielder has joined the Edgar Street club on loan from Cardiff City.

"Brad trained with us yesterday and I'm hoping to bring in another centre-back for Saturday's game as well," said Taylor.

"A couple of players will be released before the weekend and I am still trying to sift out some of the players who were brought in before my tenure.

"I'm getting closer to who I want to play and the philosophy of how I want to play is getting stronger by the week."

For Saturday, Taylor is expecting to welcome back Obi Onyeike, who missed the game at Totton as he was on compassionate leave in Holland.

Gary O'Neill may also be available and Louis Cutajar, who has been on the bench for the last two games, is under consideration for a starting place after recovering from injury.

"Arlesey are in a precarious position and will want a win, but we need a win, too, and, of course, we want to win every game," said Taylor.

As the Hereford Times went to press, the FA had still not released details of the outcome of a misconduct charge brought against Hereford United and majority shareholder Alan McCarthy, who had allegedly not submitted a completed and signed Owners and Directors Test declaration.

The club and McCarthy had been given a deadline of Monday to respond to the charge.
