NEW consultant Mark Ellis says he is laying the foundations for success with Hereford United.

He also thinks that former director Dave Preedy is keen to help the new regime.

The son of Liverpool legend Terry McDermot will be coming to Hereford, he says.

“If we get success everyone will, hopefully, galvanise and stop putting things on fans forums,” said Ellis, who is leading pre-season training at Victoria Park.

“We are transparent. I can’t dictate what has happened in the past. I only look forward.

“I have an expertise when I am brought in by clubs and, in the past four years, I have got promotions with Bournemouth, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR.

“They all know that I know the best players – my network is second to none.

“Anyone you speak to in the right circles in football, will only say positive things about me.

“I can smell this is a great project.

“I am laying the foundations for success and had, we had certain players last year, Hereford would have been mid-table pushing for the play-offs.

“If this club starts winning matches, we will double the gates.

“There is goodwill – but you can’t have factions talking rubbish without knowing the facts."

Ellis says he is a consultant at United - not the director of football - and wants players to be proud to put on a Bulls' shirt.

“The players will work hard and give us everything," said Ellis.

“We have all got to pull together.

“Forget about all the rubbish that people keep talking about.

“If it wasn’t for Tommy Agombar there would not be a football club.

“No one locally came forward to buy the club. They all talk the talk but it’s Tommy who is doing his bit.”

“The business side of things needs to be looked at but that’s not my remit.

“Dave Preedy came in the other day and we need people like him to help the club."

He says the footballing side is in safe hands.

“We are open, transparent and we have nothing to hide and every person who has seen us train cannot believe how professional things are.

"We bring years of experience, expertise in recruitment and the footballing side now is in unbelievable hands," he said.

“We have boys flying in from Spain and Terry McDermot’s son is coming down to play for us.

"Ex-players are coming up from London, including Peter Brabrook, and he wants to bring his knowledge to help us."
