HEREFORD United manager Pete Beadle is urging fans to get behind his side in this afternoon’s crunch clash against Alfreton at Edgar Street.

United have been struggling to score goals this season and must win to keep alive their hopes of avoiding the drop.

But Hereford could be relegated from the Conference Premier this evening if they lose and rivals Chester win their match.

“If you don’t put the ball in the back of the net, you don’t win games,” said Beadle.

“There is only so much the fans can take. I am sure they are enjoying the way the team are playing but they want results.

“They came with us at Tamworth and stuck with the players and full credit to them. They kept going right to the end.

“Monday is a different game. We need them to get behind the players and stay as positive as they can be. We know it’s tough. It’s tough for us and it’s tough for the players but we have to keep going.”
