Heineken donates £10,000 towards Hereford United’s fight for survival

Hereford Times: Hereford United. Hereford United.

HEINEKEN are donating £10,000 towards Hereford United’s bid to avert a winding-up order.

Heineken are making the pledge after responding to appeals from employees who support United.

Twitter was awash with the news last night after it was revealed in a post on United fans’ website Bulls Banter.

United's fans will be delighted with the donation and it is a timely boost ahead of the vital home match tomorrow (Saturday) against Woking.

Cash-strapped United are fighting to raise £78,000 to stave off a winding-up petition from Revenue and Customs (HMRC) being brought before the court on Monday.

Heineken are one of the biggest employers in Hereford and owns the city’s HP Bulmer Plant.

Well said, Mizza! Such generosity is very welcome during this difficult period for the club. Let's hope the extra fans who came last week will return and help the club in these dark days.
I think the big question will be - where does the huge sum needed to stay in business after the £78,000 has been paid come from?
Are you still teaching your young ladies about the offside rule?
