Our unbeaten run finally came to an end against Lincoln and it was our own mistakes that cost us in the end.

The whole squad has been brilliant and all played a part, we knew we would brush it aside and move on.

So we made our way on the following Friday morning to the long haul of Ebbsfleet, stopping on the way for a training session. This was the same facilities used against Dartford, that painful distant memory now!

We did change hotels, staying at the Village; it had its own Costa Coffee inside, to the delight of Mr Costa himself Stefan Stam. The way of the Dutch life, chilling out and sipping a Coffee!

Away days always give the newer arrivals at the club a chance to embarrass themselves and give the rest of us a rendition of their favourite songs. This trip was no different with Kyle Perry, Josh O’Keefe and Phil Marsh given their long awaited opportunities.

Kyle as you will already know, has his own band called Stubblemelt, he couldn’t resist singing one of his own songs. For what it’s worth, I think he has a good voice and some good tracks; he’s a likeable big cuddly bear too! It went down well.

Josh gave a good account of himself singing Max and Paddy and all was going great. Step up Mr Marsh…he didn’t just sing Glory Glory Man United did he?!! It went down like a lead balloon and I don’t think Sir Alex Ferguson would have been impressed!

As for the game itself, well it was terrible and the conditions didn’t help. Yet we hung in there and got our rewards. Some more money for the club and another home game too. We are thriving on the cup competition that’s for sure.

This is the first acknowledgement of our loyal fan base, those of you who stood in the pouring rain to watch that game, I salute you.

We came into the Cheltenham game in a buoyant mood. We knew what was at stake and for every player it’s a chance to shine in front of the cameras. These opportunities don’t come around often at our level and you have to grab them with both hands.

The cameras came down to the ground the Friday prior to the game and we also had the ‘Ronnie Radford challenge’ in order to raise money for the club.

The amount of money raised for the football club over the last few weeks has been incredible and I doubt that many other clubs in the lower leagues could raise as much.

I got told literally moments when the camera arrived that I would be presenting the lads for the preview of the game…thanks for the warning gaffer!

We had a right old laugh and some us had some dirty moustaches on our last day of Movember! Some liked the camera more than others not mentioning names (Harry Pell and Kyle Perry). Over 5k was raised, so thanks again for the support.

On Movember, it wasn’t a sad day when we got to shave on December 1st, the lads made a great effort and I believe we raised around 1k. A good end for a great cause.

The Cheltenham game was another great day for the football club. With some clean shaven baby faces and dodgy Barnets, we descended on the town of Cheltenham, men on a mission.

We knew we could win, we had the belief, you can see the spirit in the camp and we played our hearts out, after a nervous opening 10 minutes. We had the better chances and we came away delighted yet disappointed.

There were some good performances out there and I was pleased for Josh O’Keefe. He stays at the house and has fitted in great, midfielders with an eye for goal are worth their weight in glory!

The support was phenomenal and it made such a difference out on that pitch. Especially in them final minutes when we had to dig deep, the roar behind you as you headed clear, the “come on’s” for us to hit them on the counter attack, it was fully appreciated!

A word for my girlfriend, who had a prior engagement (not with another man I hope), she managed to find a bookies and watched the second half. Very impressed and she didn’t put a bet on either. Commitment to the Hereford cause!
