HEREFORD United’s Graham Turner was among an exclusive group of football managers honoured at a dinner in London this week.
Turner was among only 14 people who had managed more than 1,000 competitive first-team matches in English League or cup football.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp were special guests at Tuesday’s League Managers Association Hall of Fame - 1,000 Club Dinner.
Only 18 people, including Brian Clough and Sir Bobby Robson, are listed in the LMA Hall of Fame - 1,000 Club.
The bash was held at the Hilton in Park Lane to celebrate the managers’ outstanding achievement and longevity in the game.
“In a profession where time can often be an all too rare commodity, our 1,000 club members have exhibited an enduring quality, achieving a truly remarkable amount,” said a League Managers Association spokesman.
Turner, United’s chairman and director of football, has been at Edgar Street since 1995 and previously managed Shrewsbury Town, Wolves, and Aston Villa.
The all-time list of the 1,000 Club is: Dave Bassett, Alan Buckley, Sir Matt Busby, Brian Clough, Steve Coppell, Sir Alex Ferguson, Dario Gradi, Brian Horton, Lennie Lawrence, Harry Redknapp, Sir Bobby Robson, Joe Royle, Denis Smith, Jim Smith, Alec Stock, Graham Taylor, GRAHAM TURNER and Neil Warnock.
